Elderflower, Grapefruit and Mint Cocktail

elderflower grapefruit cocktail

One of my favourite additions to my home bar over the past couple of years has been St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I’ve always been a fan of elderflower soda, and love being able to transfer the same sweet floral notes to cocktails to give them that little je ne sais quois. It doesn’t hurt that the bottle’s sculptural deco shape and black and gold label make it a gorgeous addition to any bar cart!

In this refreshing cocktail, I’ve blended St-Germaine with Dillon’s gin, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, a hint of lime, mint leaves and Belvoir’s Elderflower Presse, which results in a delicious blend of summer flavours.

Served in a mini mason jar over ice, it makes for a perfect breezy cottage or backyard cocktail.

Elderflower, Grapefruit and Mint Cocktail

1 oz St-Germaine liquer

1.5 oz good quality gin, such as Dillon’s

2 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

1 lime wedge, plus thinly sliced lime slice for garnish

3-5 mint leaves

Splash of elderflower soda, such as Belvoir

1. Combine the liquer, gin, mint leaves and juice in a cocktail shaker. Squeeze the lime wedge into the shaker and shake gently.
2. Pour into a mini mason jar with ice and top with a generous splash of elderflower soda.
3. Garnish with slice of lime.
